ON FEBRUARY 7, 2017 THE LOS ANGELES BOARD OF SUPERVISORS VOTED TO EXTEND THE BAN ON CANNABIS FOR AT LEAST A YEAR AND POSSIBLY UNTIL 2019.

THEIR NEXT MOVE IS SEEKING TO FUND UP TO $25M TO ENFORCE THE BAN ON CANNABIS AGAINST ALL PATIENTS AND THEIR COLLECTIVES .  WE NEED YOUR HELP TO STOP THEM.

PROP 64 PASSED ALLOWING RECREATIONAL USE OF CANNABIS IN ADDITION TO MEDICINAL, BUT BOTH PROGRAMS MUST HAVE LOCAL AUTHORITIES ALLOW IT AS WELL.  THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS ARE PLANNING ON DELAYING US FROM HAVING SAFE ACCESS TO CANNABIS AND FROM BUSINESSES TO RUN LEGALLY UNTIL AS LATE AS 2019.

THIS IS A DANGEROUS POLICY THAT HARMS ALL PATIENTS AND COLLECTIVES.

SUPERVISOR HILDA SOLIS FROM DISTRICT 1 WANTS TO CLOSE AT LEAST 70 DISPENSARIES IMMEDIATELY.  TARGETING HER OWN COMMUNITY OF EAST LA USING $25M FOR  SHERIFFS TO ENFORCE THE BAN AND JAILING CURRENT PATIENTS AND COLLECTIVES.

THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE. PROP 64 HAS PASSED AND IT'S THEIR DUTY TO LISTEN TO WHAT THE VOTERS DEMAND.

JOIN ANGELES EMERALDS ALONG WITH DRUG POLICY ALLIANCE (CO-AUTHORS OF PROP 64), CALIFORNIA CANNABIS INDUSTRY ASSOCIATION, AND MANY OTHER PATIENTS AND COLLECTIVES TO FIGHT THIS BAN AND THE ENFORCEMENT OF IT.

THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS IS MEETING AGAIN SOON TO DECIDE ON HOW MUCH TO FUND THE ENFORCEMENT OF THE BAN.  WE WILL BE THERE TO FIGHT IT.
